Zhang pins hopes on rehabilitation cooperation

31 December 2021

Zhang Haidi, president of Rehabilitation International (RI) and chairperson of the China Disabled Persons’ Federation (CDPF), delivered a congratulatory message via videolink to mark the opening of a health forum recently organized by Wenzhou Medical University.

In the message, Zhang noted that rehabilitation is an integral part of society that deserves urgent attention, and that reconstructive surgery and rehabilitation of life should be at the forefront of science and technology. With timely and effective measures in place, people with disabilities can become active participants in society, improve their quality of life and maintain their dignity.

Zhang said that she hopes the China Rehabilitation Research Center and Wenzhou Medical University can collaborate on innovative solutions in the field, cultivate interdisciplinary talent ready to bring rehabilitation into the modern era, and provide strong support for relevant medical education and personnel training.

She also hoped that the two sides can strengthen their cooperation, fast-track basic rehabilitation research as well as product research and development, and promote innovation across the industry.

She said that the two sides should undertake joint efforts to innovate rehabilitation service models, expand the field of rehabilitation services, and ultimately bring hope to more people with disabilities.
