Zhang Haidi, president of Rehabilitation International, executive president of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and chairperson of the China Disabled Persons’ Federation, paid inspection visits to the National Indoor Stadium and the National Aquatics Center in Beijing on April 9 when the venues were organizing test events of the Paralympics Winter Games.
Zhang encouraged the Chinese athletes appearing in the para ice hockey and wheelchair curling test events, and also expressed her best wishes to the staff and volunteers.
She talked with the medical workers offering first aid treatment and in charge of COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control tasks at the venues, and spoke highly of their efficient performances and thoughtful arrangements.
Zhang appreciated the hard work and contribution of all people taking part in the test events, and encouraged them to continue to overcome difficulties to do the preparation work well.
Zhang emphasized that the Paralympic Winter Games is not only a sports event, but a grand gathering reflecting a humanistic spirit; holding successful Paralympic Winter Games will further advance the cause of the people with disabilities in China, improve the unity and friendship of all peoples around the world, and promote world peace.
