Daily Summaries of the Ad Hoc Committee on the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

During the 5th, 6th and 7th sessions of the Ad Hoc Committee (AHC), RI coordinated the production of Daily Summaries, a reporting service which transcribes all formal statements made by governments and civil society during the negotiations on an international convention on the rights of persons with disabilities. Launched at the first session of the AHC in 2002 by Landmine Survivors Network, the Daily Summaries project was widely recognized as providing a complete, accurate and neutral historical account of this treaty process.

RI extends its sincere gratitude to the Governments of Norway, Ireland, Canada and New Zealand for their generous support towards this project.
The Daily Summaries were translated into Arabic by Landmine Survivors Network, into Chinese by the National Secretariat of RI China, into French by Handicap-International, into Russian by the Russian Disability NGO Perspektiva and into Spanish by the Inter American Institute on Disability. The translations into Chinese, Russian and Spanish were facilitated by RI.
